The acronym FISO stands for a specific professional figure in the field of air traffic management.
Students who acquire the Flight Information Service Operator (FISO) license are able to provide, in Italy and abroad where the license is recognized, the Flight Information Service (FIS) and manage VFR/IFR traffic within airspaces classified as "G", only and exclusively by specially certified Air Traffic Services.
The concept of the FIS simulator was to create a simulation area for the air traffic safety service integrated with stations for piloting aircraft reproducing all the movements present, approaching and at the airport.
This will allow students to acquire the necessary skills for the management of all aircraft operating on the manoeuvring area of an uncontrolled airport and to prepare in the best possible way (especially for the practical test) to obtain the FISO licence, which can also be used abroad, allowing them to take part in exams for Flight Controllers.
